Sunday, December 11, 2016

The Smithsonian Institution just announced it is the official host of the Robert Rankin papers. Rankin, who passed away in 2014, was professor of linguistics at the University of Kansas from 1969 until his retirement in 2005.  Rankin was an authority on the Siouan languages and worked with the last native speakers of the Quapaw and Kaw (Kansa, Kanza) languages.
